It doesn't even run anything on startup unless you choose to on XP
(In vista/7, it does install a service in order to work around UAC, but that's the only reason)

We'll I don't like just plain DRM's, Steam is something different, I can still play some games offline, it offers me to store my games online, and I prefer that to having to swap disks every time I want to play a different game.
But I don't like SecuRom, and I haven't ran into it much. I don't think DRM like that should exist. I hate ubisoft for their infamous DRM system, and that means I'm never buying their games. I'm not that interested in them too.. except Driver San Francisco.
